Charlotte Hackman is an author, playwright, painter, and actress living in Wilmington NC since 1993. Her roles in major movies, TV series and stage credits are included in her acting resume.

With a BS degree in English, Charlotte taught high school English, speech, and drama in Texas and then worked in individual and family counseling with a master’s degree in psychology from Texas A & M University.

Charlotte wrote short children’s Christmas plays which were performed at the Wilmington Festival of Trees for several years. She continued to write plays and won the Women’s New Works Festival of Plays with her full length play Change of Life which debuted in Wilmington and went on to be produced off- Broadway in New York. She has published work in the five books by the Landfall Writer’s Group, Enter Stage Write and Intracoastal Living Magazine. She is currently working on a young adult book, Mimi Wisdom and a yet to be titled mystery novel. Much of her writing is done during the summers spent in the North Carolina mountains.

Charlotte enjoys playing poker, reading, painting …and telling stories… and encouraging others to write theirs. You will still see her occasionally on a local stage. She loves her life with husband Ed and spending family time with their only son, Colin, his wife Michelle, and their granddaughter Peyton, who also live in Wilmington.
