W. Jack Bostrom is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina. He is one of the few individuals you may meet who was raised in this area. It had been a dream of his for many years, and with numerous attempts, his wish was finally achieved when he moved to the Landfall community adjacent to the nearby beaches. Prior to this relocation, he had owned property on both Figure 8 Island and Wrightsville Beach, with a private residence in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was a personal wish that there would be more time to do the things he enjoyed, such as boating, fishing walking the beach and enjoying a coastal life style.

All of his goals were addressed with most positive results, however, he realized there was a void in his life, coming from having “too much leisure time!” So, with the encouragement of a local neighbor, author and friend, he made the decision to write. The results are indicative of those things enjoyed throughout his life, and he wished to get them memorialized for personal joy and possibly something of interest for his children and grandchildren. However, the true reason for developing these stories was simple. He wanted to bring them back to life…once again.

Born in Wilmington, he lived the quiet, inquisitive life until his teenage years. It was then that his family moved from the area when his father accepted another job. Graduating from N. B. Broughton High School in Raleigh, he entered the School of Engineering at North Carolina State University where he graduated. Following college, he was employed by Tennessee Eastman as a Technical Service Consultant within their Chemical Production Division.

He is married to his understanding wife, Susan, and has two children from a prior marriage, Angela Dean and Eric Charles, and two grandchildren, Holland Banks, and Katherine Grace.
